The Five S's of Wine Tasting

Jan Van Maanen from Hawthorne Vineyards teaches our friends at FOX 2 Detroit about the 5 S's of wine tasting.

The first "S" of wine tasting is Sight, where you check the wine for clarity. The second "S" stands for Swirl. There are many fragrant aromas that have been sitting in a bottle for several months, so we swirl to aerate the wine. Next, we Sniff the beautiful aromas we just released into the air. Then, we can do everyone's favorite part, Sip and Savor!

The next time you're wine tasting on the peninsula, remember the 5 S's of wine tasting; Sight, Swirl, Sniff, Sip, and Savor!
