14916 Peninsula Drive
Tabone Vineyards, an estate winery on Old Mission Peninsula, opened its tasting room doors in the fall of 2018. Tabone Vineyards produces and bottles wines grown from its own 30 acre vineyard, including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and various hybrid varietals, most of which were planted over twenty years ago. Tabone also grows apples, peaches and cherries. While there are currently nine different wine offerings, they will be expanding in 2019. Winery owner Mario A. Tabone, 34, has been around grapes and cherries for most of his life, harvesting and selling them since he was a child. He began producing wine commercially in 2014 and soon after, began construction of the tasting room. The logo is a red Maltese cross as Mario’s family moved to Michigan from Malta, a small European country south of Italy.
Closed for the season, reopening in March of 2019
